Decades ago, Anil Dhanak used to screen Amitabh Bachchan’s films including classics like Deewaar at his family-owned cinema in Gujarat. Years later, on the 51st anniversary of Deewaar, Dhanak got to meet his idol.

Dhanak, founder of Kanz Jewels which houses the world’s largest gold ring or Najmat Taiba in a Dubai souk, presented a specially created canvas artwork depicting Bachchan’s iconic 1975 look from Deewaar. Bachchan signed it, transforming a fan tribute into a priceless, one-of-a-kind keepsake.

As head of a luxury jewellery business Kanz Jewels, Dubai-based, Dhanak’s statement emphasises that intangible experiences—like this rare interaction hold far greater value than material wealth or gems, underscoring humility despite success. Dhanak noted Bachchan’s punctuality, warmth, discipline, and grounded nature despite his legendary status.

In an era of celebrity distance, this highlights why Bachchan remains beloved after over five decades in the industry

Expansion in the UK

Dhanak has decided to launch the next phase of his business expansion with high-end boutiques across the UK and then other parts of Europe in the coming months by seeking inspiration from his cinematic hero Amitabh Bachchan.

The Dubai-headquartered luxury jewellery brand’s ‘Najmat Taiba’ holds the ‘Guinness World Records’ distinction of being the largest and heaviest gold ring, weighing roughly 64 kilograms.
