The incident occurred on the Datta Khel–Miranshah road, an area known for a long history of militant activity and weak state control.

Police sources said local tribal elders have stepped in and initiated negotiations with the militants.
Militants belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) abducted a station house officer (SHO) in Pakistan’s restive North Waziristan region, sources told CNN-News18.
According to police officials, Muhammad Sadiq Ullah, the SHO of the Datta Khel police station, was abducted while travelling from Datta Khel to Miranshah. The incident occurred on the Datta Khel–Miranshah road, an area known for a long history of militant activity and weak state control.
Security officials said the abduction took place as the officer was en route, though further operational details were not immediately disclosed. The militants involved have been identified as members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, also known as the Pakistani Taliban.
Police sources said local tribal elders have stepped in and initiated negotiations with the militants in an effort to secure the safe release of the abducted officer. There has been no official communication from the TTP so far and no demands have been made.
Following the incident, security has been tightened across North Waziristan, with additional checkpoints set up on key routes and movement being closely monitored. Security forces launched a review of the situation but have not announced any rescue operation as negotiations continue.
North Waziristan, once a stronghold of militant groups, has seen a resurgence of targeted attacks and kidnappings in recent months, raising concerns over the fragile security situation in Pakistan’s former tribal districts.
