Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The final full trading week of 2025 is here, and this full week is also a truncated one. As Thursday is a holiday, the Sensex monthly expiry will take place on Wednesday, which means the markets will have back-to-back expiry sessions.
The Nifty staged a rebound on Friday, snapping a four-day losing streak, but continues to find resistance at the 20-DMA of 26,000. The index did make a higher high and higher low on the charts, and the bulls will be hoping to build on that.
The broader market breadth was also healthy and sustaining, and that will be the key. As the year draws to a close, participation, particularly from foreign institutions, will dwindle, leading to lower volumes in the market, and therefore, it could come as no surprise that the market remains locked in this 500-point range of 25,700 on the downside and 26,100-26,200 on the upside.
The Nifty Bank needs to cross 5the 9,500 levels for a shift in momentum as Call writers are active in that position. Railway stocks are the ones to watch after a fare hike, while names like GE, Vernova T&D, RITES, Tata Chemicals will also be in focus. Four stocks see their lock-in period end today.
