US President Donald Trump said the conflict involving Iran is progressing “very rapidly,” praising the strength of the US military as Washington continues its operations in the region.

Speaking during a Women’s History Month event at the White House on Thursday, Trump told attendees that American forces were performing strongly and that the United States was taking decisive action against Tehran.

“The situation with Iran is moving along very rapidly,” Trump said. “It’s doing very well. Our military is unsurpassed — there’s never been anything like it, nobody’s ever seen anything like it. And we’re doing what has to be done.”

The President suggested the current actions were addressing issues that previous administrations had failed to resolve over decades.

“We’re doing what has to be done, should have been done during a 47-year period,” Trump said. “It could have been done by a lot of different people. They chose not to do it.”

Trump also delivered sharp criticism of Iran’s leadership, accusing the country of supporting violence and destabilizing the region.

“They really are a nation of terror and hate,” he said. “And they’re paying a big price right now.”

The comments come as tensions remain high in the Middle East following joint US–Israeli military operations against Iran that began on February 28. The campaign has targeted Iranian military infrastructure and escalated into a wider regional confrontation affecting global energy markets.

Trump also pointed to what he described as the long-term benefits of rebuilding the US military during his first term in office.

“We had a very successful first term, best economy ever,” he said. “We rebuilt our military. That’s one of the reasons we’re doing so well now with our military.”

Trump added that he had not expected to rely so heavily on the armed forces but said recent global developments had made their strength crucial. “I never thought I’d have to be using it so much,” Trump said, referring to the escalating conflicts involving Iran and other regions.
