US President Donald Trump is dissatisfied with and is unlikely to accept Iran’s latest proposal to resolve the ongoing West Asia conflict, which suggests deferring discussions on its nuclear programme until a ceasefire is achieved and disputes over maritime security in the Gulf are settled. According to officials, the US administration considers the nuclear issue central to any durable resolution and is unwilling to separate it from broader negotiations.
