Bangladesh ist Party (BNP) leader Tarique Rahman said Bangladesh had been “liberated twice"- first in 1971 and again through the July 2024 uprising- as he addressed supporters after returning to the country following nearly 17 years in exile.
Tarique Rahman paid homage to the 1971 Liberation War and expressed gratitude to what he described as the people’s uprising in July 2024, which he said restored democratic aspirations in the country.
“We liberated Bangladesh in 1971. We liberated it again in 2024," Tarique Rahman said, drawing loud applause from the crowd.
